Taste Block

Tasting Notes

Aromas of ripe cherry and raspberry are lifted by violet, spice, and a touch of earth. The palate is medium-bodied and lively, balancing fresh red fruit with bright acidity and fine, lightly grippy tannins. The finish is clean and energetic, leaving a lightly spiced, red-fruited impression.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

Classic Beaujolais Gamay’s vibrant red fruit, bright acidity, and supple tannins make it especially versatile with fresh, savory, and lightly rustic dishes. Its mix of fruit, and subtle floral notes complements herbs, mild spices, and vegetable-driven preparations, while its lift keeps richer or saltier foods feeling balanced. The wine’s easy charm and food-friendly structure pair best with charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled vegetables, and simple bistro-style fare where brightness and delicacy are key.

About the Producer

Domaine Alexandre Burgaud is a family estate based in Morgon, in the heart of Beaujolais, with vineyard holdings centered around some of the appellation’s most recognized lieux-dits. Alexandre Burgaud took over the domaine from his father in the early 2000s, representing a new generation of producers contributing to Beaujolais’ qualitative resurgence. His work has helped reinforce Morgon’s reputation as one of the region’s leading crus, building on a family legacy while participating in the broader re-evaluation of Beaujolais as a source of serious, site-driven wines.
