Tasting Notes

Critical Acclaim:

94 Vinous (2024 review)Drinking Window 2025 - 2030The 2024 Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is impossible to ignore. It has a vivid, perfumed bouquet of black cherry and wild blueberry, complemented by sweet lavender tones and hints of spice. This possesses amazing complexity and inner perfume. Violet florals arc across the palate as the Cerasuolo finishes long and slightly tart. In 2024, Cristiana Tiberio used all of her Montepulciano fruit to bolster the Cerasuolo. This is not to be missed. - By Eric Guido on May 2025

About the Producer

Azienda Agricola Tiberio is a family-run estate founded in 2000 by Riccardo Tiberio, focused on preserving and expressing Abruzzo’s native grape varieties, particularly Trebbiano Abruzzese, Pecorino, and Montepulciano. Located inland near the Gran Sasso, the vineyards benefit from a combination of mountain and maritime influences that support slow ripening and natural acidity, with well-draining soils contributing to balance and structure. Now run by Riccardo’s children, Cristiana and Antonio, the estate maintains a consistent approach centered on careful vineyard management and restrained winemaking, using stainless steel fermentation and minimal oak to preserve clarity and varietal character. The wines are known for their precision and freshness, with a particular emphasis on demonstrating the structure and aging potential of Trebbiano Abruzzese.
