Tasting Notes

Aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, and green apple lead the nose, accompanied by notes of white flowers and fresh herbs. On the palate, the wine shows a light to medium body with lively acidity and a clear mineral edge. Flavors of citrus, pear, and gooseberry develop through the mid-palate, supported by subtle herbal tones typical of Loire Sauvignon Blanc. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving impressions of citrus peel and light flinty minerality.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

This is an ideal match with lobster tournedos, goat cheese, summer salads, and lean fish. Some specific pairing ideas include serving this with fresh seafood like oysters, mussels, shrimp, and grilled fish. Fresh goat’s milk cheese is always a fantastic fit with wines like this, as are dishes that feature fresh produce, citrus, salads, and light poultry like roasted chicken or chicken salad.

About the Producer

Domaine Raimbault et Fils is a family winery based in the village of Verdigny, located in the eastern Loire Valley near the town of Sancerre. The Raimbault family has cultivated vineyards in this part of the Loire for several generations, maintaining a relatively small estate devoted primarily to Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Like many producers in the region, the family focuses on vineyard parcels situated on the slopes surrounding the Sancerre hill, where limestone and flint soils play an important role in shaping the wines.

The estate emphasizes straightforward winemaking methods designed to preserve varietal expression and the character of the local terroir. Grapes are harvested carefully and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks to maintain freshness and aromatic clarity. The resulting wines aim to express the classic profile of Sancerre—bright acidity, citrus and orchard fruit, and subtle mineral character—while remaining accessible and suited to early drinking.
