Tasting Notes

Fresh red and black fruit lead, with aromas of blackberry, red cherry, and violet, followed by cracked black pepper and a light savoriness from granite minerals. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and supple, driven by bright acidity and fine-grained tannins. Fruit remains clean and focused, with a mineral undertone that adds tension through the mid-palate. The finish is dry and moderately persistent.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

Rhone Syrah’s muscular frame, savory depth, and pronounced mineral edge make it an ideal complement to dishes featuring char, richness, or slow-cooked intensity. Start by matching the wine’s tannins with protein. Try grilled or roasted lamb, bone-in ribeye, or duck leg confit, which are excellent anchors.

About the Producer

Founded in the late 1970s and based in Chavanay at the southern end of the northern Rhône, Domaine Lionel Faury is a family estate now run by Lionel Faury, farming roughly 17 hectares across Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and Côte-Rôtie. The domaine works with sustainable viticulture on steep granite terraces, focusing on Syrah and Viognier harvested by hand and sorted parcel by parcel. Fermentations use native yeasts, and élevage is carried out in a mix of large neutral barrels and older barriques to maintain precision and structure.
