Tasting Notes

Buoyant citrus and orchard fruit notes lead to lime zest, rounded grapefruit, green apple, and white peach, followed by subtle elderflower and nuances of fresh-cut herb. On the palate, the wine is brisk and focused, with a pronounced minerality typical of wines of this quality, and  a crisp, rounded citrus character. Perfectly ripe, elegant fruits mirror the nose, balanced by firm acidity and a dry, linear profile, leading to a lilting, electric finish.

Critical Acclaim:

"The 2024 Sancerre vintage was unforgiving—cold, wet, and rain-drenched—which is precisely why this wine matters. Minuscule yields from Sauvignon Blanc grown on calcareous pebbles (the "Caillottes" that give the wine its name) produced something unexpectedly alive: bright citrus and stone fruit threaded through a chalky mineral spine. Reverdy's hand-harvesting and cold fermentation preserved the zesty acidity that difficult vintages sometimes strip away. Forty-plus parcels across three villages ensure complexity despite the challenging conditions. A reminder that the hardest years can produce the most interesting bottles. FlatIron Wine & Spirits

Food Pairing

This is an ideal match with lobster tournedos, goat cheese, summer salads, and lean fish. Some specific pairing ideas include serving this with fresh seafood like oysters, mussels, shrimp, and grilled fish. Fresh goat’s milk cheese is always a fantastic fit with wines like this, as are dishes that feature fresh produce, citrus, salads, and light poultry like roasted chicken or chicken salad.

About the Producer

Domaine Jean-Marie Reverdy is a family-run estate based in Verdigny, one of the principal villages within the Sancerre appellation in the eastern Loire Valley. The Reverdy family has cultivated vines in this area for several generations, building a reputation for classically styled, terroir-focused Sauvignon Blanc. The estate farms parcels across Sancerre’s varied soil types, allowing for cuvées that emphasize specific geological expressions, including those derived from caillottes soils.
