Tasting Notes

Aromas of wild strawberry and pink grapefruit are lifted by delicate floral and citrus notes. The palate is light and vibrant, with crisp red berry fruit, bright acidity, and a subtle mineral edge. The finish is clean and refreshing, leaving a dry, lightly savory impression.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

Rosé from Bardolino offers light freshness, gentle fruit, and a clean, subtly savory profile that suits simple, herb-driven dishes with moderate richness. Its lift and easy drinkability work naturally with salads, grilled vegetables, antipasti, and lighter seafood or poultry, keeping everything bright and relaxed. The understated texture also complements casual pastas, flatbreads, and warm-weather plates, making the style especially versatile across everyday Mediterranean fare.

About the Producer

Founded in 1948 by Luciano Piona in the village of Custoza near Lake Garda, Azienda Agricola Cavalchina is a four-generation family estate closely tied to the creation of the Custoza appellation, which the Piona family helped formally establish in the 1970s after years of bottling wine under that designation. Today the estate is led by Franco Piona and his nephew Francesco Piona, farming roughly 50 hectares on the morainic hills shaped by glacial retreat around Lake Garda. These gravel, limestone, and clay soils have long been recognized for viticulture, including during Habsburg rule prior to Italian unification. The estate focuses on traditional local varieties such as Garganega, Fernanda, Trebbianello, and Corvina, producing regionally accurate Custoza and Bardolino that reflect the structure and balance typical of this historic Lake Garda zone.
