2024 Cantina Puiatti Ribolla Gialla, Venezia Giulia IGT

This lovely Ribolla Gialla shows a pale, bright color and a buoyant aromatic profile built on lemon, red apple, white peach, light floral notes, and herbal notes like sage with an underscoring of minerality. On the palate, it is light-bodied and driven by firm acidity, with flavors of citrus, pear, and a delicate, saline quality. It reminds me of a mix between  quality Albariño and Grüner Veltliner, and is equally easy to drink and enjoy with a good meal.

The moment you pour the wine, it is as if you are picking the freshest and ripest apple in an orchard. In between hints of apples, the wine offers freshly cut white flowers, sea breeze and gravel. The palate continues with pear, wildflower honey and a distinct minerality that adds nuance on the finish.

Cantina Puiatti, founded in 1967 by Vittorio Puiatti in Romans d’Isonzo in Friuli Venezia Giulia, is a focused, modern estate known for its commitment to precision and varietal clarity.
