Tasting Notes

This gastronomic Albariño opens with aromas of lemon zest, freshly cut pineapple, green apple, and white peach, followed by subtle notes of white flowers and sea spray. On the palate, the wine is crisp and refreshing, with a fine mineral texture and bright citrus drive. Just-ripe orchard fruit mirrors the nose, balanced by firm acidity and a distinct underscoring of salinity that adds definition.

100% Albarino; alcohol: 13%; 35 year old vineyards in Cresente, Condado do Tea subregion of Rias Baixas between 165 – 650 feet; granitic, sandy soils; vines trained in traditional horizontal arbor; hand harvested and pressed within 30 minutes; fermented in stainless steel tanks; aged on lees 3 months in tank; aged 3 months in bottle; vegan-friendly.

Food Pairing

Albariño’s vibrant citrus profile, saline edge, and brisk acidity make it especially suited to fresh, coastal-inspired dishes. Its combination of citrus peel, stone fruit, and subtle floral notes complements herbs, bright aromatics, and preparations that highlight the purity of seafood. The wine’s lively, mouthwatering finish pairs best with shellfish, grilled fish, light tapas, and vegetable-driven plates where salt, freshness, and subtle spice enhance its coastal clarity and precision.

About the Producer

Morgadío is a small producer based in the Val do Salnés subzone of Rías Baixas, the historic center of Albariño production, with a focus on expressing the region’s Atlantic character. Working with carefully selected, granitic-soil vineyards near the coast, the estate benefits from strong maritime influence that supports slow, even ripening and preserves acidity. Its winemaking approach is deliberately restrained: early harvesting, stainless steel fermentation, minimal lees contact, and no oak, all aimed at highlighting freshness, mineral tension, and salinity. The resulting wines prioritize clarity and precision, reflecting Albariño’s natural profile rather than relying on winemaking technique for structure or weight.
