Tasting Notes

Aromas of green apple, ripe pear, and citrus blossom emerge from the glass, accompanied by notes of white peach and honey. On the palate, the wine is lively and balanced, with bright acidity supporting flavors of lemon, quince, and orchard fruit. A gentle minerality adds texture through the mid-palate, while hints of beeswax, quince and fresh stone fruits adds lift. The finish is clean, lifted, and moderately persistent, leaving impressions of citrus and crisp,  crunchy cosmic apple.

About the Producer

Founded in 1987 in the Valle de Guadalupe of Baja California, Monte Xanic was established by five partners including Hans Backhoff with the goal of producing estate-focused wines in one of Mexico’s emerging premium wine regions. The estate farms vineyards in the Guadalupe Valley and nearby coastal-influenced sites where Mediterranean conditions and granite-based soils support varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chenin Blanc, and Chardonnay. Vineyard management emphasizes careful site selection and sustainable practices suited to the dry climate. Monte Xanic is recognized as one of the foundational modern producers of Baja California and a leading estate in the development of the Valle de Guadalupe wine region.
