The wine shows a deep ruby color with subtle purple tones at the rim. Aromas open with black cherry, raspberry, and red currant, followed by notes of dried herbs, crushed stone, and a light savory edge. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and structured, with firm but polished tannins framing layers of dark red fruit, spice, and subtle earth. Founded in 1910 and now led by third-generation winemaker Bernard Bouvier, Domaine René Bouvier farms roughly 30 hectares across the Côtes de Nuits and Marsannay, with a deep focus on old-vine Pinot Noir and select parcels of Chardonnay.
