Tasting Notes

The wine shows a pale straw color with green reflections. The nose is clean and demurely expressive, offering notes of zested citrus, lifted apple blossom, and breezy orchard fruit, with subtle hints of honey and almond. On the palate, it is light- to medium-bodied, with a pronounced freshness supporting flavors of green apple, pear, and lemon. A distinct mineral core carries through the mid-palate, leading to a dry, structured finish with a slight almond-like bitterness typical of the variety.

Food Pairing

This style of Erbaluce pairs well with dishes that emphasize freshness and moderate richness. Its high acidity makes it particularly suited to seafood, freshwater fish, and vegetable-driven preparations, where it can cut through texture while highlighting subtle flavors. The wine also works well with lightly spiced cuisines, where its structure and clean profile provide balance without overwhelming the dish.

About the Producer

Orsolani is a historic estate in the Canavese zone of northern Piedmont, with origins dating to the late 19th century when Giovanni Orsolani returned from the United States and established both vineyards and a small inn. Today, the family focuses exclusively on wine production, with a strong emphasis on the native Erbaluce grape, which accounts for the majority of their output. The vineyards are located across a limited production area surrounding Caluso, where Erbaluce has been cultivated for centuries. This zone is defined by glacial and morainic soils, along with a continental climate moderated by Alpine influence, conditions that support the grape’s naturally high acidity and slow ripening cycle.
