Tasting Notes

The nose leans tropical and herb-driven, with notes of lemongrass, Thai basil, papaya, and citrus, alongside a subtle hint of mint and ripe golden fruit. On the palate, it is crisp and medium-light in body, balancing bright acidity with a slightly rounded fruit profile, showing layers of citrus and tropical fruit alongside fresh green herbal tones.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

Sauvignon Blanc from South France’s bright acidity, clean aromatics, and lightly sun-ripened profile make it especially suited to dishes built on freshness, herbs, and simple savory elements. Its crisp structure and easy energy complement seafood, salads, and vegetable-driven plates, while its clarity keeps lightly creamy or mildly spiced foods feeling lifted. The wine pairs best with grilled fish, goat cheeses, fresh herbs, and casual Mediterranean fare where brightness, balance, and straightforward charm highlight its southern, coastal character.

About the Producer

Marqués de Cáceres was founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner, whose family had previously been involved in wine production in Rioja before a period of exile in France during the mid-20th century. While in Bordeaux, the family gained experience that later influenced the style of the winery upon their return to Spain. Established in Cenicero, Rioja Alta, the project became an important part of Rioja’s modernization, blending traditional Spanish frameworks with techniques and perspectives shaped by Bordeaux, helping to redefine the region’s international image in the late 20th century.
