Tasting Notes

The nose brings aromas of quince, pear skin, and lemon zest, layered with subtle notes of wet stone and dried herbs. On the palate, it is dry, medium-bodied with flavors of orchard fruit, citrus peel, and a gentle saline edge.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

Saumur Chenin Blanc’s taut acidity, orchard-fruit purity, and subtle mineral grip make it a natural match for clean, savory dishes with delicate richness. Its mix of apple, quince, and gentle floral notes complements fresh herbs, light aromatics, and preparations with a hint of creaminess, while its chalk-driven texture supports both lean proteins and vegetable-forward plates. The wine pairs best with Loire-style goat cheeses, simply prepared fish or poultry, and dishes where bright flavors and quiet earthiness bring out its precision and finesse.

About the Producer

Founded in Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay in Anjou, Domaine Famille Ogereau is a multigenerational estate now run by Vincent Ogereau and his children, farming about 25 hectares across Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, and surrounding appellations. The vineyards are managed organically with an emphasis on hand harvesting and careful parcel selection, and plantings focus mainly on Chenin Blanc along with Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, and Pineau d’Aunis.
