Tasting Notes

The wine opens with bright red fruit, led by strawberry, raspberry, lavender, and bright red cherries alongside more a subtle floral note (violet) and a light minerality that underscores everything else. On the palate, it is supple and light to medium-bodied, with a fine, lightly textured tannin structure and fresh acidity that keeps the fruit precise. The profile remains focused and clean, with hints of cranberry, crushed stone, and gentle herbal nuances. The finish is clean and persistent, emphasizing balance and clarity, and calls for a slight chill to let those red fruit notes pop.

Critical Acclaim:

93 points, James Suckling. (2022 vintage) "A vibrant and delicious red with notes of strawberries, lavender, violets and red cherries. It’s medium-bodied and fruit-driven with a nicely tight tannin structure. Excellent balance. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold."

About the Producer

Domaine les Capréoles is a small, family-run estate located in the northern part of Beaujolais, in and around the village of Régnié-Durette. Founded in 2014 by the young couple Claire and Fabien Lardy, the domaine reflects a new generation of Beaujolais producers focused on site expression, organic farming, and minimal intervention in the cellar. The vineyards are worked without synthetic chemicals, with careful attention to soil health and biodiversity. In winemaking, the approach typically combines semi-carbonic maceration—a traditional Beaujolais technique—with controlled extraction and aging in neutral vessels, aiming to preserve the clarity of fruit while allowing each parcel to express its specific character. The cuvée “Chamodère” comes from a defined lieu-dit from within Régnié.
