Tasting Notes

This Bordeaux Rouge opens with aromas of red cherry, plum, and raspberry, layered with subtle notes of violet and light spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and supple, with soft tannins framing bright red and dark fruit flavors. Acidity is balanced and keeps the wine lively, and oak influence is minimal, allowing the fruit to remain at the forefront. The finish is relatively direct rather than prolonged, marked by fresh fruit and savory spice tones, making the wine approachable and well-suited to the table.

About the Producer

Château Malbat is a family-owned estate located in the Entre-Deux-Mers area of Bordeaux, east of the city of Bordeaux between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. The château has been in the Rochette family for several generations and is today run by brothers Jérôme and Sébastien Rochette. The estate farms approximately 75 hectares and produces both red and white wines, with a focus on approachable, varietally clear expressions of Bordeaux. Viticulture emphasizes sustainability, parcel management, and consistency, while winemaking favors clean fermentations, moderate extraction, and limited oak use aimed at preserving fruit and balance.
