Tasting Notes

70% Nero d'Avola, 30% Perricone

So fresh and so clean! This surprisingly elegant red will become a new favorite for anyone who loves wines that come from areas like Alto-Piemonte, northern Burgundy, Savoie, Vallee d’Aosta, Alto Adige, the Loire Valley, and any varietals that feature crunchy, chillable, versatile red-fruited wines that can be enjoyed whenever and wherever. Summer strawberries, red cherries, red plum skin, rose petals, and pomegranate blend seamlessly with baking spice, orange zest, and balsamic notes in the glass and on the palate.

About the Producer

Centopassi is a distinctive Sicilian wine project based in the high Belice Corleonese plateau near Corleone, where organically farmed vineyards sit at over 500 meters above sea level on varied clay soils that promote cool nights, fresh acidity, and balanced ripeness. Working exclusively with indigenous Sicilian varieties and a non-intrusive winemaking approach, Centopassi produces wines that range from reliable, everyday bottlings to some of the most compelling single-vineyard expressions in western Sicily, with particularly vivid and mouthwatering whites. Beyond quality, the estate carries strong social significance: its vineyards were confiscated from convicted Mafiosi and are farmed under the Libera Terra initiative, making the wines a clear statement against organized crime. Harvest typically runs from late August through September, with neutral yeasts used for whites and indigenous yeasts for reds to preserve varietal character and site expression.
