Tasting Notes

55% Xarel.lo, 35% Macabeu and 10% Parellada

Critical Acclaim:

"The 2022 Corpinnat Brut Nature from Can Descregut was disgorged in October of 2024. The wine is crafted this year from a blend of fifty-five percent Xarel-lo, thirty-five percent Macabeu and ten percent Parellada. The wine shows lovely precision and complexity on the nose, wafting from the glass in a mix of breadfruit, lemon, salty soil tones, fresh-baked bread, lemongrass and a hint of lavender in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and focused, with an excellent core of fruit, a lovely spine of acidity, fine soil undertow, frothy mousse and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. This is fine juice! 2025-2040+."

Food Pairing

Corpinnat’s crisp acidity, refined bubbles, and balanced, Mediterranean-influenced profile make it especially suited to savory dishes that emphasize freshness, subtle richness, or gentle spice. Its clean structure and dry finish complement seafood, vegetables, and lighter meats, while its energy and texture cut smoothly through fried or creamy preparations. The wine pairs best with tapas, shellfish, roasted vegetables, and casual yet thoughtful plates where brightness, lift, and understated complexity highlight its precise, quality-driven character.

About the Producer

Founded in 1992 and based in Penedès, Can Descregut is a family-run estate that farms about 20 hectares of organically certified vineyards focused on local Catalan varieties such as Xarel·lo, Macabeu, and Parellada, along with small plantings of red grapes. The winery produces still wines and traditional-method sparkling wines under Corpinnat, using hand harvesting, native-yeast fermentations, and extended aging on the lees. Vineyard work prioritizes low yields, biodiversity, and soil health to reflect the limestone and clay character of central Penedès. The estate is known for clean, precise wines built around regional varieties and a consistent organic approach in both vineyard and cellar.
