On the palate, it is medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and a clean, focused structure, showing juicy red and dark fruit with a slight savory edge. The tannins are fine and lightly grippy, giving just enough structure without weight. The finish is dry, fresh, and lightly bitter, with lingering fruit and a crisp, refreshing lift.

About the Producer

Domaine Joseph Roty is a historic family estate in Gevrey-Chambertin founded in 1960 by Joseph Roty, though the family’s roots in Burgundy extend back for generations. Over the decades, the domaine built a strong reputation for traditional, age-worthy wines and became one of the benchmark producers of Gevrey-Chambertin, known for its deep connection to some of the Côte de Nuits’ classic vineyard sites.

Following Joseph Roty’s passing in 2008, the estate has remained family-run under the next generation, continuing a style and philosophy closely tied to its history. Domaine Roty is often associated with continuity and old-school Burgundian identity, with a legacy that has made it one of the enduring reference points in the appellation.
