Finca La Capilla is based in Roa de Duero, one of the central municipalities of the Ribera del Duero DO and a longstanding hub for viticulture in northern Burgos. The estate was founded in 1998 as Bodegas Robeal by Juan Miñón, who began by planting 160 acres of Tempranillo across Roa de Duero, Anguix, La Horra, and Fuentecén. In 2019, the property was acquired by Marqués de Cáceres. The Forner family, who lead Marqués de Cáceres, brings nearly a century of international wine experience to the project. Despite the change in ownership, continuity remained in the vineyard and cellar through Rodrigo Miñón, a viticulturist and winemaker with extensive knowledge of Ribera del Duero.
