Tasting Notes
80% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre, 4% Cinsault
This lovely Châteauneuf-du-Pape shows off the balance and structure of the vintage, the encépagement 80% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre, and 4% Cinsault. The wine shows a deep ruby color with moderate concentration. Supple aromas of redolent red and dark fruit—cherry, raspberry, and plum—alongside notes of dried herbs, black pepper, and garrigue. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a structure that’s wonderfully balanced; its fruit, tannins, and acidity a seamless whole.
Critical Acclaim:
93 Points, Decanter - "Savoury herbal touch at the core of the black cherry fruit. Full-bodied, fresh, vivid and upright style. Gently mineral seam alongside the vein of acidity that gives this wine plenty of energy and focus, bringing refreshment and longevity. Fermented in stainless steel and concrete, aged in old barriques."
92 Points, Jeb Dunnuck - "The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a ripe, up-front, sexy style as well as impressive notes of candied strawberries, raspberries, wildflowers, and spice. Playing in a medium-bodied, more supple, elegant style, it has good tannins, rock-solid overall balance, and outstanding length."
