From/Terroir: Concis du Champ, Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy, France. Low on slope, southeast of the village, east/southeast-facing, heavy clay soil.
Critical Acclaim: Not frosted, yielding 40 hl/ha, registering just over 13% alcohol. More lemon than lime in colour, with a much riper bouquet, including some yellow fruit. This is more in the juicy style rather than chiselled with nonetheless a fine acidity behind. Slightly saline, the Concis des Champs certainly makes one salivate. Fine persistence, I like this more this year than sometimes in the past. In fact, this may be Olivier’s best Concis des Champs in bottle to date. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted Nov 2023. 91 points out of 100.
