From: Loire Valley, France
Varietal: Cabernet Franc
Angélique Leon moved to Savigny-en-Véron, in the Loire Valley, taking over her parents’ domain in 2002. She is basically a one-woman operation working the vines, harvesting, and vinifying the wines in the cellar. Angélique believes that good wine starts in the vineyards with minimal intervention. She follows sustainable farming methods in its soil, pest, and disease management, since 2010, and the estate fully converted to organic practices in 2018.
Tasting Notes: A deep ruby color, with flavors of ripe, fleshy fruit and violets dominating a rounded structure driven by fresh acidity and underscored by the minerality of the sand and limestone terroir of the domaine.
Pairing: Nice to drink with poultry or pork dishes, grilled meat, or cheeses.
