"A very special release to highlight an exceptional vintage in which Produttori del Barbaresco decided to make a new expression from their historical cru vineyards. Named in homage to Don Fiorno the priest who founded the winery in 1958 this is the first riserva of its kind to be released by the cooperative in decades.Incredible aromas of white truffle meat wet earth lightly burnt orange peel and pure fruit. Medium-bodied and very compact with a block of silky tannins that run through the palate and then come out at the end with a gorgeous texture. It?s very drinkable now but will age wonderfully. This is a special release. They never made a serious blended riserva in their history." 98 Points, James Suckling

"The 2016 Barbaresco Riserva will be available later this spring. It is introspective at the moment. although it is concentrated with licorice, fresh black cherry, cedar, and black pepper. It is a more brooding wine but retains its style, with leather, red plum, and balsamic, and as it opens it shows more fresh apricot. Founded in 1958, Produttori del Barbaresco is a growers cooperative that today represents more than 50 member families farming about 250 hectares across the Barbaresco appellation. The winery focuses exclusively on Nebbiolo and produces a Barbaresco DOCG, a Riserva program, and nine single-vineyard bottlings sourced from recognized crus such as Asili, Rabajà, Montestefano, and Ovello. Vineyard work follows consistent, quality-focused guidelines, and all fruit is fermented in a traditional manner with extended maceration and aging in large neutral casks. The cooperative is known for delivering clear, consistent expressions of Barbaresco built on varietal character, site identity, and long-term cellar potential.
