Tasting Notes

Critical Acclaim:

Jeb Dunnuck, Score 90, Date 2024-12-22
"Mostly from the 2022 vintage with 8% reserve wine, the NV Champagne L'Esquisse Brut is 72% Meunier and the rest Pinot Noir. A copper/straw hue, it jumps from the glass with fruity, expressive notes of wild berries, black berries, violets, and wet stone. Easygoing and approachable, this quaffer is dangerously easy-drinking, with a refreshing mousse and a juicy feel while feeling fully dry. It's a charmer to enjoy over the next few years.”

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

This fruity and expressive champagne pairs well with duck breast and berry sauce, roast chicken with herbs, or grilled salmon. Of course, the classics work wonderfully as pairing options as well. Think of gougères, oysters (including baked or fried oysters), fried or roasted chicken or pork, mushroom risotto or stroganoff, pâté or Rillettes, and charcuterie and fromage boards.
