Taste: In the glass, this is a deep coral-pink color. The nose opens with delicate aromas of wild strawberry, pomegranate, and pink grapefruit, accented by rose petals and a touch of sea breeze. On the palate, the wine is light and brisk, showing flavors of red currant, blood orange, and a faint herbal lift. The texture is smooth and silky, balanced by mouthwatering acidity that extends through a clean, mineral-tinged finish.
Pairing: Pair this with dishes that emphasize freshness, acidity, or light char. Avoid overly sweet glazes, and lean into Mediterranean flavors, seafood, and seasonal vegetables.
About: Due Terre Wines is based in the western Sicilian town of Alcamo, a hillside area long associated with crisp, Mediterranean whites and expressive native reds. The project began as a collaboration between two friends: Vito Lauria, a native of Alcamo, and Catherine Stratton, a California wine merchant with a deep interest in transparent, small-grower Italian wines.
