2023 Yves Cuilleron Viognier 'Les Vignes d'à Côté'

Aromas open with ripe pear, white peach, and citrus peel, followed by hints of apricot and a light floral note of honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is clean and supple, with a gently rounded texture that reflects the Viognier variety without tipping into heaviness. Stone fruit and yellow apple flavors are supported by moderate acidity and a subtle mineral undertone, keeping the profile focused. There is a mild phenolic grip through the mid-palate, adding structure and balance, and the finish is dry, measured, and quietly persistent rather than expansive.

Yves Cuilleron is one of the key modern figures of the Northern Rhône. Based in Chavanay, just south of Condrieu, Cuilleron took over his family estate in the late 1980s and steadily expanded it from a small holding into one of the region’s most respected domaines. His work coincided with a broader revival of Northern Rhône whites and reds, particularly a renewed seriousness around site expression, vine age, and careful élevage.
