Tasting Notes

The nose is vivid and concentrated, opening with raspberry jam and ripe red fruit, followed by green peppercorn, mild baking spice, and a subtle toasted-bread note from barrel aging. On the palate, the wine is warm and medium-plus in body, with velvety, juicy tannins that carry the fruit across the mid-palate. The oak is measured, adding gentle toast and a touch of cocoa. The finish is smooth, with lifted red fruit and spice notes.

Pairing Block

Food Pairing

Think in terms of balance for this wine with moderate richness, gentle spice, and dishes that benefit from the wine’s combination of fruit depth and refined tannin. Tempranillo from Rioja Alavesa pairs well with lightly charred or roasted elements, tomato-driven sauces, and proteins with enough fat to complement the wine’s warmth. Classic regional pairings include cordero asado (roast lamb with herbs) or grilled pork with paprika and garlic.

About the Producer

Familia Torres is based in the town of Vilafranca del Penedès, where the family has been documented since the 1500s. Viticulture became a formal part of the business in 1870, when brothers Jaime and Miguel Torres Vendrell founded a dedicated wine company focused on growing, production, and export. Since then, the family has expanded to include the Mas La Plana estate in Penedès, Torres Priorat in Priorat, La Carbonera in Rioja Alavesa, Pago del Cielo in Ribera del Duero, Val do Sol in Rías Baixas, and the historic Milmanda estate in Conca de Barberà.
