Tasting Notes

Sourced from a minimum of 70-year-old vines planted in volcanic soil, this elegant wine is made from 100% hand-harvested Garganega grapes. In the glass, clean citrus and orchard fruit define the aromatic profile, with notes of lemon peel, stone fruits, alongside subtle white flowers and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, the wine is fresh and composed, with a lightly textured mineral character (flint) that reflects its volcanic origins. The fruit remains precise and restrained, supported by bright acidity and a gentle phenolic texture that’s extremely pleasant. The finish is dry and focused, with lingering citrus and a faint saline note that reinforces the wine’s balance, clarity, and polish.

Critical Acclaim:

90 Points, James Suckling, Review Date 2025-04-10. ”A restrained wine with aromas of stone fruit, lemon leaves and white pepper. The attack is forthright, with a light body and a fragrant, crisp and polished finish full of citrus notes. Drink now."

90 Points, Vinous, Review Date 2025-09-25. ”The 2024 Soave Classico entices with a pretty mix of crushed yellow apples, rosemary and sweet smoke. It reverberates with zesty tension as crisp orchard fruits mingle with sour citrus tones over a core of stimulating acidity. This wine leaves the cheeks puckered and mouth watering for more through the medium-length and crisply refreshing finale."

About the Producer

The Gini family is among the historic producers of Soave, with documented roots in the village of Monteforte d’Alpone dating back to the 16th century. Today, the estate is run by brothers Sandro and Claudio Gini, who have maintained a strong focus on traditional varieties and hillside viticulture within the Classico zone. Their holdings are concentrated in some of the appellation’s most established crus, including Froscà and Contrada Salvarenza, where old vines and careful farming underpin a style defined by clarity and restraint rather than overt winemaking influence. The estate is known for working organically and emphasizing vineyard health, with minimal intervention in the cellar to preserve the character of the fruit.
