Matiz sea salts are produced by Salinas San Vicente. Situated on the southern Atlantic coast of Spain, in the province of Cádiz. San Vicente uses ancient saltpans first established during Roman times. Sprawling out along the Caño de Sancti Petri, a shallow marine channel that winds along the coast, these broad indentations serve as ideal reservoirs to collect and concentrate briny ocean into elegant, flavor-boosting salt. Matiz offers two varieties including flor de sal (also known as fleur de sel) and virgin smoked salt (this product).
