From: Corsica, France
Varietal: Quinquina is named after Cinchona bark (quinine or "quina-quina" in Incan) which is combined with exotic spices, walnuts, and citron and steeped into a base wine of local Muscat and Vermentino.
Tasting Notes: Medium-bodied, sweet. Neither too sweet nor bitter, Mattei might be the best intro-Aperitivo out there. This Quinquina is fruity, spicy, and herbaceous with a good balance of acidity and bitter-cut to retain freshness on a very long finish.
Pairing: Perfect for use in a Negroni, Boulevardier, or Manhattan. Or, just to sip on over ice with an orange peel.
