Taste: In the glass, this is a luminous pale salmon hue. Aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, and red currant, layered on subtle notes of rose petal, citrus zest, and stone fruit. The palate is dry and vibrant, marked by crisp acidity and a supple, rounded texture. Layers of the red berry on the palate, balanced by minerality and a subtle saline finish.
Critical Acclaim: "A well-rounded, focused and delicious rosé showing dried raspberries, frozen strawberries and mild spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. Balanced and driven, with a lively center palate and a persistent, flavorful finish” - 92 Points, James Suckling
Pairing: This Provençal rosé pairs well with foods that emphasize freshness, delicate textures, and balanced seasoning. Its bright acidity and subtle fruit complement light proteins and seafood while cleansing the palate. This works especially well with dishes that highlight Mediterranean herbs.
About: Château d’Esclans sits in the commune of La Motte-en-Provence, northeast of Saint-Tropez. The estate’s origins trace back to the 13th century, when the Count of Provence granted the land to Gérard de Villeneuve. Medieval vaulted cellars, still part of the property today, date from that era, and the surrounding hills once served as a Roman lookout across the Esclans Valley.
