From: Lake Chelan, Washington
Varietal: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec
Taste: This vintage shows a pale lime-green color in the glass. On the nose, aromas of mandarin orange, guava, and pineapple open first, followed by subtle notes of dried straw, crisp apple, and lemony herbs. The palate is crisp and medium-light, delivering flavors of lime and grapefruit intertwined with a flinty minerality.
Pairing: The Albariño’s zesty citrus, textural finesse, and mineral edge make it a superb match for dishes with light to medium weight and bright flavors. Try it with ceviche made from scallops or shrimp, where the lime and grapefruit notes will complement the tang in the dish, while its acidity refreshes the palate.
About: Amos Rome Vineyards is located in Manson, Washington, on the north shore of Lake Chelan. This small town in the Lake Chelan AVA has grown into one of Washington’s most exciting emerging wine regions, thanks in part to its ancient glacial soils, intense diurnal temperature swings, and the climate-moderating influence of the lake itself. Founded by the Pettigrew family and led by winemaker Travis Clark, Amos Rome is an estate winery producing small-lot, vineyard-driven wines with a clear sense of place.
