Description
From: Tsinandali, Kakheti, Georgia
Varietal: Saperavi
Taste: Bold spices, anise, dried herbs, and baking spices serve as tannins for the wine and break up the fruit a bit. Rich notes of figs and a medley of blackberry, plum, and cassis coat the palate. Flavorful, fruit and spice-centered, and complete with rounded, silky edges, this lovely red wine will warm you on cold nights or pair amazingly well with BBQ or any night you want to grill.
Pairing: This versatile wine will pair well with so many dishes! Some examples include serving this alongside BBQ ribs or Kalbi, grilled, braised, or roasted meats, hearty stews, pasta with ragù, stir-fried beef dishes (like the one we’re sharing below), or even salmon that uses a smoky and sweet rub. Weeknight takeout works beautifully, too. Takeout burgers and tots, your favorite carnitas or al pastor tacos, gyro plates, kebab, teriyaki, or anything from Bongos Café, the non-pretentious, delicious Caribbean spot in Green Lake.

About: Mildiani Family Winery, established in 1991 by the four Mildiani brothers—Eldari, Levani, Leri, and Pridoni—fuses ancient Georgian winemaking traditions with modern techniques. The brothers began by acquiring and exporting locally produced wine to Russia, laying the foundation for their future endeavors.
The brothers recognized the growth potential and constructed a wine bottling facility in Mtskheta, Georgia. To distinguish their products, they established a ceramic workshop producing unique clay wine bottles, marking the first commercial use of such packaging in post-Soviet Georgia.
