From: Bronzolo, Valle Isarco, Alto Adige, Italy
Varietal: Grüner Veltliner
Taste: In the glass, the wine shows a pale straw-green hue. On the nose, vivid notes of green apple, white peach, and a hint of freshly cracked white pepper emerge, underpinned by a subtle mineral tone. The palate is crisp and focused, with bright orchard fruit mingling with peppery spice and a delicate chalky texture, building to a long, refreshing finish that lingers with citrus zest.
Pairing: The bright acidity and subtle peppery spice of Grüner Veltliner make it an excellent partner for dishes that emphasize freshness, herbs, or gentle spice. It's a clean, mineral-driven frame that balances richer textures without overwhelming them. Think of prepared fish or poultry, such as grilled trout with lemon-thyme butter or herb-roasted chicken, as classic options. Or an avocado and lime ceviche highlights its bright orchard fruit and crisp finish.
About: Weingut Tenuta Klaus Lentsch is based in Bronzolo, a village in South Tyrol’s Alto Adige region, where alpine and Mediterranean influences meet to create some of Italy’s most distinctive wines. The estate was founded in 2008 by Klaus Lentsch, a third-generation winemaker who sought to reinterpret Alto Adige’s classic varietals through precise site selection and modern, terroir-driven practices. Though the family has been active in viticulture for generations, this project marked a decisive turn toward estate bottling and single-vineyard expressions.
