Taste: Medium ruby in color, the wine opens with aromas of blackberry, redcurrant, and black cherry layered with subtle black pepper, cedar, and a faint earthiness. On the palate, it is medium‐bodied and fresh, with dark berry fruit framed by fine, velvety tannins. Notes of mineral and spice carry through to a long, persistent finish, giving the wine both structure and lift.
Pairing: This Garnacha’s combination of ripe fruit, gentle tannins, and fresh acidity makes it adaptable to a range of dishes. It works well with medium‐weight proteins, herbal accents, and preparations with light char or savory spice.
Wine Notes: The Corral de los Altos is a single‐vineyard Garnacha Tinto from the village of Fitero in the Navarra DO. This 2.10‐hectare parcel sits on a high plateau planted in 1978, with vines now over 40 years old. The site is defined by its stony, rocky soils and exposure to the cold cierzo wind from the north, which moderates temperatures, slows ripening, and preserves natural acidity. Grapes are hand‐harvested, fermented with native yeasts in 3,000‐liter stainless steel tanks, and aged for nine months in 500‐liter used French oak barrels. The 2021 vintage in Navarra was marked by a cooler growing season with mild summer temperatures, allowing for a long, steady ripening that yielded wines with bright acidity, aromatic clarity, and moderate alcohol.
