Description
From: Mersault, Burgundy, France
Varietal: Chardonnay
Taste: This is a pale gold hue with subtle green highlights in the glass. The nose opens with lemon curd, white peach, and green apple, alongside soft layers of hazelnut, wet stone, and acacia. On the palate, the wine is linear and precise, with citrus peel, flinty mineral notes, and a saline edge.
Pairing: This Meursault’s high acidity and mineral tension make it a good pairing for dishes that feature fine textures, clean seasoning, and a bit of fat or brine. White Burgundy, particularly from villages like Meursault, often have a creamy, layered mouthfeel due to barrel aging on lees, subtle oak influence, and moderate to high acidity.
About: Domaine Sylvain Dussort is located in the village of Meursault in the Côte d'Or, right in the middle of Burgundy’s white wine stronghold. The estate covers around six hectares, almost entirely within the Meursault AOC and its surrounding regional designations. Sylvain and his wife took over the family business in 1982. Both sides of the family had long ties to the village as winegrowers and coopers. Since then, they’ve steadily grown the domaine through new vineyard acquisitions, modernized winemaking equipment, and cellar expansions to meet evolving quality standards.
