Taste: In the glass, the wine shows a pale straw hue with green reflections. Aromatically, it opens with white nectarine, lemon curd, and crushed oyster shell, layered with hints of chamomile, flint, and faint almond skin. The palate is supple and elegant, with a smooth midweight texture supported by bright acidity. Flavors of green apple, Meyer lemon, and wet stone unfold slowly, balanced by a subtle saline edge and soft leesy grip. The finish is persistent and lifted, carrying notes of citrus pith, chalk, and a touch of savory herb.
Pairing: This premier cru Chablis is best matched with dishes that allow its mineral core and crisp acidity to shine, while complementing its gentle roundness from lees aging. Seafood, shellfish, pasta, and light poultry dishes all pair wonderfully.
About. Domaine Benjamin Laroche is based in the historic town of Chablis, in northern Burgundy. Though the domaine itself is relatively new, founded in 2012, Benjamin Laroche carries a long lineage in the wine world of Burgundy and Chablis in particular. The Laroche family name is well-known in the region, and Benjamin's background includes working for his family’s renowned winery, Domaine Laroche, before embarking on an independent path. With a vision rooted in small-lot precision and site specificity, Benjamin established his own négociant-éleveur project to source top-quality fruit from organically farmed vineyards across Chablis and beyond.
Before founding his domaine, Benjamin worked extensively in international export markets, gaining a global perspective that now informs his sharp, quality-driven focus. His decision to move away from the larger, more commercial operations of his family’s estate was motivated by a desire to work with growers who farm responsibly and to create wines with authenticity, transparency, and limited intervention. He partners closely with select organic and sustainable vineyards in Chablis and Languedoc, vinifying and bottling each wine at a facility in Béziers with strict attention to varietal clarity and terroir character.
