From: Entre-deux-Mers, Bordeaux, France
Varietal: 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec
Taste: You’ll find notes of blackberry, dark cherry, cedar, and black pepper in this fabulous everyday red. It shows the purity, finesse, and elegance of the vintage beautifully yet backs it up with density, concentration, and depth, revealing a stunning nose of red and black currants, tobacco leaf, new saddle leather, and spring flowers, with perfect ripeness and balance.
Pairing: You could easily pair this with homemade smash burgers, weekend BBQ, weeknight NY strip steaks, or easy roasts or braises. Other successful pairings include dishes like Portobello ‘Steak’ au Poivre, roasted beef tenderloin, roast leg of lamb (check it out below), pomegranate-glazed meatballs, beef pot pie, and beef skewers.
