Tasting Notes: From a master of natural winemaking in Friuli Venezia Giullia in Italy's northeast corner, Kaplja is Damijan's symphony of a skin contact blend. The title is "Drop" composed of three artists: Chardonnay, Nekaj, and Malvasia Istriana. Each of them donates to the wine's characteristics, contributing to harmony and balance from the nose to the mouth. The marked olfactory aromas from the Friulano (Nekaj), the continuity of aromatics from the Malvasia, and the long round and sapid finish from the Chardonnay.
Vinification: Maceration begins in large oak barrels for 60-90 days. Once fermentation has finished it is aged in 20-30 hectoliter barrels for three years and rests for another year in bottle before release.
