From: Sud-Quest, France
Varietal: 80% Gros Manseng 20% Petit Manseng
Tasting Notes: This cuvée was composed like the one of 2017, with the Manseng that we did not put in the main dry cuvée. Light and easy to drink, in order to suit the greatest number of people, for a shared and/or festive moment.
Pairing: As an aperitif, its low sugar content of 20 g/L makes it lighter; it will perfectly match your desserts and specialties such as foie gras.
Created in 2004 on the steep hillside of the oldest bastide in the Landes, Les Pentes de Barène has the particularity of being a domain, a parcel, and only a cuvée. It is indeed the smallest estate in the Tursan AOC! This slope is very clayey and the steep slope that makes up the estate as indicated by its name has led Daniel to build terraces in order to make the vines benefit as much as possible from the south-facing exposure. These steep slopes also allow water flows to be distributed because rains are frequent and can be abundant; thus soil erosion and leaching are limited.
The vineyard is only made up of white grape varieties, because it is the original color of Tursan wines, and also with a rare grape variety, the Baroque. All work on the vine up to the harvest is done by hand, the soils are grassed and mowed. The vineyard is managed according to a rational agricultural method in order to reconcile production and limit the supply of products
