The Drouhin family has a strong reputation for quality and innovation, taking inspiration from the great Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (often abbreviated to DRC) and committing to showcase the purity of Burgundy's terroir in 1918. They were an early supporter of quality controls & the formation of the INAO (at a time when Burgundy's wines were commonly blended with wine from the Southern Rhone or Algeria).
Fast forward a bit, and they fell in love with the Willamette Valley. They were the first from Burgundy to make wine in the New World, in Dundee Hills, where their estate still thrives.
