From: Marne Valley, Champagne, France
Varietal: Pinot Meunier
Tasting Notes: This Champagne, partially vinified in oak barrels, has a slightly pinkish robe with pale golden highlights. It is lively and seductive with notes of red berries, fresh-cut hay, and ripe wheat. Its finish is characterized by the minerality of Meuniers from Passy sur Marne.
Pairing: Meunier-based Champagnes are a perfect match for roasted pork tenderloin or duck breast. Also anything with an umami-rich mushroom preparation, perhaps chawanmushi with matsutake mushrooms or stuffed portobellos with wild rice.
A 100% Pinot Meunier Champagne that is aged on the lees for 36 months. With a 6 g/l dosage, this is Brut (dry) and an excellent wine on its own or with various culinary delights.
