From: Rhône Valley, France
Varietal: Viognier
Taste: Their Viognier is made beautifully in a floral style, with notes of honeysuckle, light apricot, green almond, and a fresh, breezy finish. As easy as this delicious wine is to enjoy, as it opens up, more nuances of spice and perfectly-ripened stone fruit unfold, its texture bright, rounded and lingering on the finish.
Pairing: This lovely white wine works well with richer proteins - think roast chicken, turkey or poached salmon. It also pairs well with foods that have a spice component. Some specific examples include grilled salmon on "dauphinois" potatoes, spicy mango and cashew nut salad, Indian or Thai curries, and chicken salads with apricot, mango, or peach (like the Coronation Chicken recipe we’re sharing below).

This wine. This is the story of three young friends who have formed a remarkable wine partnership, drawing on the generational knowledge and experience of their respective families; the three are Nicolas Jaboulet, the 6th generation of a winegrowing family in Tain l’Hermitage; Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage; and Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the northern Rhône. Since 2012, they have been working parcels in Crozes-Hermitage and are now producing northern Rhone wines that are true and classic expressions of the region.
