From: Sicily, Italy
Varietal: Nerello Mascalese
Tasting Notes: This rosé was made with a solid skin maceration in order to get the deeper hue that is a salmon-tinged color. Structured yet delicate, adorned by a wide array of red fruits. The nose is intense, delicate, floral with hints of straw, fruity with hints of blackberry and cherry. The palate is dry, fresh, saline and mineral, lightly tannic and with a distinct aromatic persistence of red fruit notes on the finish. Enjoy with a slight chill!
Pairing: This rosé will work with a wide range of food, from watermelon salad to grilled chicken, seafood, vegetables, and fresh cheeses.
Winemaking in the Benanti family can be traced back to the late 1800s in Viagrande, Sicily. This deep-rooted passion for wine is what led Giuseppe Benanti to establish the namesake winery in 1988. After 25 years at the helm of the winery and greatly contributing to the development and growth of the whole region, Giuseppe passed the torch to his sons in 2012.
Benanti is the only winery with vineyards on every slope of the Etna DOC.
