From: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
Varietal: Ribolla Gialla
Tasting Notes: Pale golden in color with fleeting green reflections. On the nose, it is expressive and vibrant with apple and pear, and a hint of toasted bread. Minerality and freshness jump out on the palate, with plush yellow plum skin along with a hint of acacia flower notes and a beautiful framework of acidity.
Pairing: This wine would be great with seafood, raw or cooked. You could really enjoy it with anything from sushi and sashimi, shrimp scampi, or codfish croquettes. It’s also beautiful on its own as an apéritif!
Ronchi di Cialla is a historical Friulian estate and strictly a family business. Founded in 1970 by Paolo and Dina Rapuzzi, their legacy now continues through their sons Pierpaolo and Ivan. The company philosophy has always been to work only with indigenous varieties, such as Ribolla, Refosco, Schioppettino, Verduzzo and Picolit that find the perfect environment in the subzone of Cialla. Their perpetual aim is to give value to the ancient native grape varieties of Friuli in accordance with their philosophy of selective production of extremely high-quality wines.
