Varietal: 57% Grenache, 43% Syrah
Tasting Notes: A beautiful purple-blue hue. The nose is floral and driven by violet notes with traces of minerality. The palate is powerful yet restrained, showing condensed blue and black fruit. A tannic, harmonious wine with a fruity and spicy (white pepper) finish.
Pairing: Pair this wine with grilled steaks for a satisfying savory experience. Alternatively, dark chocolate will enhance the richness and fruit flavors in the wine.
Organic
Situated among growths of Aleppo pine, lavender, and truffles, the vineyards of Visan are buffeted by the Mistral wind as they bask in the Mediterranean sunshine–both of which are conducive to producing a wide range of fruity and tannic wines. All the finesse of Visan wines is drawn from the depths: the marl and sand soils allow vines to grow deep roots to access water reserves below ground. Meanwhile, their power is provided by the ripening of the berries thanks to the pebbles on the surface that store heat from the sun. The richness and elegance of this terroir, with its alluvial terraces, rocks from the Tertiary age of the Miocene era, and ancient marine sands, allows for the formation of small grains of tannins.
