From: Rhône Valley, France
Varietal: Viognier
Tasting Notes: Notes of peach, apricot, and white flowers emerge on both the nose and palate of this medium-bodied wine. The influence of some oak in the winemaking process contributes to the round, opulent, and balanced texture of this Viognier.
Pairing: Will compliment fish in rich sauces, pasta and white meat such as pork loin with an apricot stuffing, quail, or goose.
Domaine de la Janasse was founded in 1976 in Châteauneuf du Pape by current winemaker Christophe Sabon’s father, Aimé Sabon, who continues to oversee the vineyards. Robert Parker has remarked upon, “the young and talented Christophe Sabon[, who] continues to display the sure-handed touch of a veteran winemaker.”
