From: Burgundy, France
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Amélie Berthaut lives by a motto carved into the stone of her family home (written there in 1693): Bien faire vax miev que dir, “doing right is better than talk.” She lets her wines do the talking, sharing Burgundy's unique terroir through hard work, determination and raw talent. Based in Fixin (where her family has worked since the 18th Century), she works with vines inherited from her mother and father's family domains. These are all worked with organic methods, managed by her fiancé Nicolas Faure who has previously worked with Prieuré-Roch, DRC, and Chave. Without a doubt, Amélie is quietly making some of the best-value Pinot Noirs in Burgundy.
