Fresh off the presses! Cadence offers an extremely limited amount of rosé (a grand total of 50 cases for 2021) every year, and we are thrilled to be the first shop in Seattle to snag a couple cases of this rosé.
Ben takes the same approach with his rosé as he does every other wine he makes; careful and methodical sorting, pressing, vinification, and bottling. The final blend, or cépage, changes every year, both for his vineyard-specific red wines and rosé.
There is a benefit to adjusting cépage based on vintage, and in Cadence's approach, this allows Ben to stay true to terroir even in challenging vintages. In the case of the 2021 rosé, this pays off in a masterful feat of sheer friendliness, lift, and versatility. The old wine adage of "higher quality, lower quantity" holds true for each and every one of their wines in a way that we can only marvel at. Don't be frightened by the 50% Petit Verdot/50% Cabernet Franc percentages, Ben is a master with both of these varietals, and any wine aficionado will love this little gem of pink.
