From: Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
Varietal: Viognier
Tasting Notes: Unlike the Viogniers often made in warmer climate Washington and Oregon sites (which are beautiful in their own right), Teutonic’s Helvetti Viognier leans heavily into gorgeous cool-climate flavors. This wine is clean and bright, with aromas of honeysuckle, as if you’ve caught a whiff of it on a spring walk through the dew after a morning drizzle. It has a core of white peach and Japanese pear, highlighted against a gentle citrus background that fades into a long, invigorating finish.
Pairing: Because this Viognier is so charmingly fresh, bright, and pure-fruited, leaning into flavors of Asian Pear & white peach, we recommend pairing this wine alongside equally fresh and balanced dishes. Any dish that incorporates fresh cheeses, pear, salads, seafood, chicken and fruit or cream sauces, etc will work wonderfully. Regarding a specific pairing, we recommend preparing an equally versatile recipe from Kay Chun for Salmon Soba Noodles with Ponzu Scallion Sauce.
